| Is This Year Biggest Oscar Nominated Movie Built on Historical Falsehood? Posted: 14 Feb 2022 04:08 AM PST NPR reports that the movie 'Power Of The Dog' received the most Oscar nominations, with 12 this year. Is there a problem here historically? Here's the plot , according to Wikipedia: In 1925 Montana, wealthy ranch-owning brothers Phil and George Burbank meet widow and inn owner Rose Gordon during a cattle drive.Did cattle drives really exist in Montana beyond 1890's ? Is this another Hollywood fakery? 1925 isn't the 1890's. Disclosure: I haven't seen this movie . |
